Position Summary Information

Position Summary

The SLA Leader works under the direct supervision of the SLA Coordinator. The position is responsible for organizing and facilitating weekly SLA workshops, including clarifying course concepts, incorporating study skills, generating notes from course lecture, preparing workshop materials, meeting with course faculty, meeting with the SLA Coordinator, adhering to program policies, and keeping workshop records as instructed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Facilitate two (2) hours of structured workshops each week, incorporating the duties listed above in the Position Summary.
- Facilitate development study skills as applied to specific course content.
- Attend lectures as related to specific workshop(s.)
- Prepare practice materials.
- Meet with professor(s) weekly for workshop communication and feedback.
- Maintain workshop attendance records.
- Contact student IAW SLA policy to encourage workshop attendance.
- Refer students who may require assistance from other programs to the SLA Facilitator.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
Required Minimum Qualifications

- Must be an APSU student enrolled at least 1/2 time.
- One year of college (30 credit hours).
- Minimum overall combined 3.0 GPA.
- In-depth knowledge of subject material.
- Basic computer skills.
- Direct deposit of pay is required.
- A background check may be required of the successful applicant.
